Hundreds of our graduates (since 1979 when the school was founded) practice all over the world in private practice, clinics, hospitals, prisons, spas, hospitals, wellness centers, health food stores, and whole food stores as well as creating their own herbal gardens, dispensaries and product companies, writing books, founding schools, teaching and doing research.
In over 25 years I have never heard of one student having any difficulty with the law, instead I hear of research grants being awarded by Harvard University, graduates being honored at conferences, being awarded grants, writing books, teaching and founding schools, and running successful abundant practices and clinics.
Success is not won by a name. It is won because you do fine work that draws clients to you because they are happy and recommend others to come to you and because you represent the truth of what you teach and practice as an authentic example.
As our students come from many countries, states and provinces, all with different laws, we advise you to explore the laws in your area and follow your instincts and heart as to how to be guided as you learn and study as to how to appropriately practice where you live. Perhaps you are destined to be a pioneer and bring healing truth to your home state. Laws vary in different states and countries. If you are a true naturopath, a living example of truth, an authentic guide for others, a true teacher of the laws of living, cause and effect, and healing, you will be guided in correct action, respect for lawns, and create harmony with whatever environment you find yourself in.

The School of Natural Medicine International is Approved and Regulated by the Colorado State Board of Higher Education Division of Private Occupational School.
In Colorado our graduates incorporate with the Secretary of State as Naturopaths, Iridologists and Master Herbalists and in other states like California simply apply for a business license. In other states many graduates prefer to call themselves Rejuvenation Specialists, Wellness Counselors, Health Coaches, Longevity Specialists and so on.
The meaning of the word "Naturopath" has changed greatly since five four-year universities the USA changed training to a scientific medical approach so they could gain government approval and obtain funding from companies seeking practitioners to recommend their products and equipment to their clients, much as the medical profession does. There are, I believe at this time of writing, only five states where these schools have affected control over the laws, and in those states pure and true naturopaths call themselves wellness counselors and other such names with great success, go on television and radio, lecture, run practices and teach. We are teachers of healthy living and there are no laws against that.
If your concern or fear is stronger than your confidence then do go to a four-year university, invest $100,000 over several years and see for yourself what you are like at the end of that training, and how your choices and relationship with clients is restricted and ruled by immense debt. Our students graduate as radiant, happy, creative and successful teachers and guides for others, ready to shape their life in service to truth, and they also enjoy the process.
