Essential Oils, A Black Stallion Named 'Beauty' & Healing
Our beloved, Louise Harvey, School of Natural Medicine
graduate Naturopath, Master Herbalist and Master
Iridologist graduate who was the Iridologist at Gary
Young's Utah clinic for two years, plus being an
amazing master of essential oils teacher and
practitioner, reports on an amazing healing experience
with a beautiful black stallion using essential oils.
"Ten
days ago on a Sunday afternoon, one of my distributors
called with great concern for his big black stallion
"Beauty" - who had been chased by two other horses into
the corner of a fenced pasture - AND Beauty went
through the barbed wire fence - including the big
sturdy post!! Josh was unable to reach any of the
many vets listed in the phone book, so called me.
I grabbed my suitcase and was there in 10
minutes.
Beauty's
right leg was ripped bare to the flesh above the knee-
a wound about 6inches by 8 inches with skin hanging
down. Then I saw the left leg - a wound above the knee
and up onto his shoulder ripped bare about 12 inches by
16 inches with lots of skin hanging down. AND a hole in
the center of his chest just above the legs about 4
inches by 4 inches. I need to say I'm not real good
with bloody things! And he was bleeding and he was in
shock - quivering. Fortunately he was in a pen
with shade as it was 95 degrees.
I
felt like David and Goliath with my little bottles of
YL essential oils, but we had to do something, so put 3
ounces of organic olive oil, 40 drops of MELROSE, 20
drops of LAVENDER and 10 drops of HELICHRYSM into the
spray bottle and squirted it onto the bare, bleeding
areas. Also put the MELROSE in my hand and held it
under his nose, told him how sorry I was to have him
have to experience this and prayed! He looked at me
with his big brown eyes and came right to my hand and
was licking the air around it so he could get more.
After the 2nd bottle, most of the bleeding stopped as
did his shaking.
Then
we did a 3rd bottle and added PANAWAY and TRAUMA LIFE -
about 5 drops of each on top of the other oils. He
continued to calm, the wounds began to seal up and
amazingly the flies never came around - guess they
don't like the oils. Soon, he dropped his head to eat
some hay and we got him some water and put Lavender in
it. The
vet showed up at 11:00 the next morning - and following
the cleaning of the wounds again with his protocol,
and removing the excess skin Beauty went
into shock again, so Josh sprayed everything down again
and he calmed down. The vet then wrapped what he could
in gauze, left some anti-biotics and returned a couple
of days later to clean it out and change the wrapping.
Josh has been doing it ever since. He is taking photos
of the progress. Beauty now goes out into the pasture
and eats and returns to the shade.
I
share this because it is my first REAL experience
with the oils and a horse and not to profess to be an
expert, but to remind you to have Melrose, Lavender,
and Helichrysum on hand as a first aid for any sort of
injury or wound. Beauty is going to be OK - and
it will be a long year for him, but we are very
grateful!" Many
Fragrant Blessings to you all,
Louise Harvey -

Subtle Vibrations of Flower Essences Lead Us Deep Into Trauma
As we begin the last day of our deep dive into the
internal worlds of our six students of Flower Essence
II with the
Flower Essence Society
essences, we are in awe of how the vibratory radiations
of exquisite flowers have the power to release and heal
the roots of personal dysfunction, allowing realization
presence to begin the unwinding necessary to free the
roots of fear, emotional wounding and survival
strategies.
The first day, Maggie, near the completion of months of
attending classes, dedication to self healing, work
with case histories, and attendance at a 12 day
naturopathy retreat, explored her internal world
through the qualities of the flower essences. The
afternoon was dedicated to a field trip, communion with
plants and a mind map.

After each student completes their process, the group
shares an integration exercise.
The second day, Julia and Hayley took the dive into
internal realities, and the third, Daniel and Cheri,
explored their beings through the lens of qualities
inspired by the vibratory fields of flowers. We also
watched DVD's created by the Bach Flower Center
directors near Oxford, England.
Today our last day, Dila, experiences her self healing
exploration through the FES essences, and the class
completes with vibrational healing with Tibetan Bowls,
acutonic tuning forks with our guest teacher, Diane
Dula.
Flower Essences - For the First Time I Let My Emotions Speak
HAYLEY: "For the first time, I let my soul emotions
speak.! I cried as it was hard to open up, especially
to classmates I barely knew. But I did it, and it feel
good. After working out my remedies, an intense feeling
came over my body. I felt physically lighter. No longer
did the sadness vibrate from my throat and heart. The
tension eased as I discovered what it felt like to
speak my true voice. I gained the courage and strength
to tell others what I needed in life, in my own world.
I learned how and why it is so important to not sit
idle when I am not saisfied with the way things are,
and to listen to my soul, for it will guide me through
to what is needed. All I have to do is listen and it
will show me. I also learned how to listen to others,
and that I must truly be interested in their journey or
they will never want to share. I give a thousant
grateful thank you's to this class. It has truly begun
the positive shift in my life's journey."
CHERI: "I unfolded all my life's trauma to a group I
had only known a few days. It was a level of community
support without judgement that I had never felt before,
and it was one of the most thereapeutic experiences of
my life. It was the release I needed deeply. Flower
Essences II is a powerful experience that creates an
environment for each and every student to have a true
transformation while reaching a new level of
consciousness."

MAGGIE: "In Flower Essence II, Farida led us through
the process of getting to the roots of the issues that
hold us back from becoming the fullest expression of
ourselves. It is no accident that flowers have unseen
roots and yet they are able to bloom in riotous beauty.
I was able to uncover instances and false beliefs that
have haunted me for years, making me fearful of taking
next steps. The process involved tuning in to your body
and feeling specific emotional words (associated with
flower essences) that cause reactions and where in the
body the reaction occurs. The body remembers and does
not lie, nor does it allow you to avoid your issues as
our bodies speak to us, loud and clear. Once I
identified the words that held a lot of emotion, Farida
and other students asked insightful questions,
gradually peeling off the layers of stories and excuses
we tell ourseles, until I finally got to the root of my
issue. It was transformative, a little sad, but
ultimately peaceful and freeing. Tuning in, listening
and helping the other students get to the root of their
issues was equally awe-inspiring and satisfying as was
realizing we are all one on energetic and vibrational
levels. The flower essences work at the root level to
vibrationally balance disturbances, erroneous beliefs
and fears as they restore health. It is very emotional
work but absolutely worth the effort."

JULIA: "Using the
FES Flower Essences
as a gateway to my deepest concerns and fears was a
very insightful and grounding process. We broke past
the superficial aspects of our day-to-day existence and
got to the root of our issues. At first I was very
excited to share but when it was my turn to dive
inward, I was overwhelmed as it was incredibly real and
emotional. Moving past the current issues and looking
at the causes created a huge shift. Being able to
identify my patterns was extremely helpful and the
vibrations of my being were shifting as class went on.
With deep love, Julia"
DANIEL: "We dived deep into our own self-healing to
discover the root of our own emotional tpe and how this
influenced, changed and shaped our personality. I
received a self realization of a common pattern of
behavior from childhood that has influenced my
personality, the way I feel, and how I make decisions
based on an emotion/feeling deep within. This created
an emotional instability creating the pattern of
behavior underpinned by fears including judgement, self
acceptance, resentment, trust and lonliness. We worked
through flower essences for these reactive emotionals.

I was able to feel a resonance, kind of like an
energetic pull of each of the flowers that were calling
for me. The flowers are subtle and work energetically
with each emotional instability so that the positive
aspect can resonate through the body."
DILA: We went so deep into the core of everyones
emotional issues, problems, trauma and released them in
different ways. Each of us had a personal evolution,
transition, that was very helpful. I felt so light and
happy after each class! Thank you."
Friday August 12 - Flower Essence I begins with a deep
and profound dive into the Bach Flower Remedy system.
Want to join us? There is a space left for some lucky
being ready for self healing transformation.

Creating Herbal Medicine's in SNM's Authentic Herbal Pharmacy
Herbal Medicine II - Experiential, hands-on, plant
identificarion, plant harvesting, herbal medicine
making – students learn first hand how to run the many
and varied aspects of a herbal medicine pharmacy
dispensary. Hear from the students about the class.
Last School of Natural Medicine herbal class of this
year Sept 6 - for Herbal Medicine I, still a space for
a lucky student!!!

"I felt so in touch and in tune to all the herbs in
Heidi's garden. Two days there were informative
spiritually, and also physically when processing plants
– from asking the plants to feeling medicinal
qualities, to allowing the healing properties to enter
the body. We tasted, felt, and heard the herbs speak in
their natural environment. We learned how to process
and use the herbs to gain most benefit. The trip to the
Botanical Gardens was incredible, we learned about
different varieties of each plant and herb and
witnessed them in their natural environments. It
brought me closer to the plant world and educated me to
recognize and identify plants more easily. Heidi's
teachings are informatons, spiritually and on a
knowledge level. It is more informative to be with
plants than text books." Daniel

"HM
II opened my eyes to a whole new world of plant
medicine. The wondrous thing is definitely the hands[on
experiential understanding approach to studying
nature's medicine. From previous experience with other
courses, I can confidently say that this class is truly
a gift as we are able to feel, communicate with, ask
and explore the herbal realm rather than being
bombarded with pages of information to memorize. Hands
down coolest part!!! - the Botanical Gardens adventure!
So many ah-mazing plants in God's Garden!!!" Ana
"I left every day excited and energized. I learned so
much that I am excited to explore. I told my husband
'we don't have weeds we are living in an alpine herbal
farm! I really connected with Heidi as she is very
relaxed and it is easy to ask questions. She is also
very clear. I can't wait to take Herbal I." Sharon
"I am forever grateful for this school and the
beautiful teachers! Farida's day helped me to
understand the basis of how and why of herbal medicine.
Meditating with the plants was very hard for me as I
never meditated before, but it amazed me what they told
me! Hands-on was amazing. I learn that way, so it was
very beneficial." Hayley
"Herbal Medicine was the first class I took wtih SNM
and I didnt' want it to end. There is so much I have
learned and so much more I want to know. Thank you
Farida and Heidi for introducing me to a whole new
world." Cheri
"My life will benefit now I know how to make a salve,
tincture and oil. Looking forward to showing my family
and friends that herbal medicines can really help
them.
Denver Botanical Gardens
trip was so GREAT! Drawing while we talked about the
herbs really made them sink in for future reference.
Great co-students and class!" Tasha

"Farida, the best word to describe
our Ithaca
Body Mind Retreat you lead is "nourishing". The food
nourished my body, enabling me to feel satisfied and
healed, feeling very deep that this was precisely what
my body needed. It is amazing how hunger vanishes
when the body is nourished at the cellular level.
The beautiful
grounds, ponds, and nature nourished my soul, which was
starving for an infusion of quiet, peaceful, clean and
clear scenery, air, and water.
David's morning
and evening meditations and talks quieted my mind and
nervous system, and every talk he gave seemed like it
was directed solely to me--a clear indication that we
are in fact all ONE.
Marcia's
nutrition and health talks were very informative, and
her strength and enthusiasm for exercise inspired me to
push myself farther than I have in years, resulting in
more joint movement and range of motion in my
previously-injured shoulders. I feel like I am
finally coming back into my body.
The
compassionate, talented, and well-educated staff helped
in every way imaginable, from preparing love-infused
food to going out of their way to make sure everyone
was feeling good. To top it off, there was easy
camaraderie among the guests, becoming fast friends
which is only possible with like-hearted souls.
Finally, I thank
you, Farida, for helping me wade through long-held but
erroneous beliefs regarding myself and my life,
enabling me to see clearly for the first time, and also
for encouraging me on my healing path. The
retreat was truly transformational!"
It has been a delightful to share Maggie's journey of a
year into depth self-healing combined with classes.
Maggie flew in from Texas for several classes last
spring and summer, and then again this winter. Now that
she has moved, she flies in from Connecticut for her
last two classes this autumn. The amazing
transformation required for becoming an authentic guide
and inspiration for others means doing your own
work!
Maggie reported
that her daughters admired the changes in her after her
return from the retreat, and that they are both
inspired to try a cleanse and definite changes in
lifestyle and eating habits. That is the best! whe your
world begins to change around you. Congratutions Maggie
for all the little steps that led to the big leap!!
Summer School Begins with Herbal Medicine
Friday, the first day of Herbal Medicine II, was
dedicated to exploring how to approach the vast field
of herbal medicine and create a structure for hands on
experience, self healing with herbal formulas and
falling in love with herbs. Philosophy, hebal programs,
supportive full programs that include healing diets,
reflexology, iridology, flower essences, essential oils
and naturopathy, ethics, emotional healing, personal
issues and much more was presented and
discussed. How
wonderful to return to teaching after such a brilliant
break - first my son's visit, then 3 weeks at Body Mind
Retreat near Ithica New York, then a lovely week
integrating and preparing, and then the students arrive
full of passion, commitment and dedication to self
healing and their studies.

Here
is the first group. Ana is missing from the lunch photo
in the garden.
NEXT WEEK: Flower Essences II with the FES system,
diving deep into each student's history, psyche and
emotional field followed by Flower Essences I with the
Bach Flower system.
Flower Essences & Essential Oils are a significant
part of Herbal Medicine studies.
IRIDOLOGY - CONSTITUTIONS
As I am writing the revised updated version of
Iridology A Complete Guide, my 1986 hardback
textbook published by Thorsons/Harper Collins, I find
myself delighting in the memories of my meetings with
renowned explorers of the world of the iris!
I had been practicing and teaching Iridology for about
ten years in Cambridge and London, England when I
purchased
Josef Deck’s
two books, Principles of Iris Diagnosis and
Differentiation of Iris Markings. For weeks, I poured
over his books, delighting in the excellent photography
but found myself struggling with a ponderous
translation that did not work well with the practical
realities of educating or guiding clients to health and
wellness. As I studied his approach to organizing iris
patterns into constitutions – a new idea to me – I
found the types and sub-types awkward as so few clients
fit those exact patterns. Also, there was no mention of
psychological tendencies, the area I was so keen to
explore in Iridology & Natural Medicine.
After making inquiries, I contacted
Willy Hauser
at his clinic in Germany, and made arrangements to
visit a friend near Frankfurt and then travel south
through hot spring country to meet Willy Hauser and
Josef Deck. It was a beautiful spring and my friend and
I enjoyed staying at Heilpraktiker – the German version
of a Naturopath – healing centers, soaking in hot
springs and experiencing treatments such as the
Continuous Shower, a water therapy that gave me the
best sleep of my life since I was a baby, and left me
calm and relaxed for days.
Willy Hauser greeted us at his clinic in Heimsheim and
showed us around his state of the art facilities with
great enthusiasm. Offices, iris photography, treatment
rooms, pool, steam, sauna and water therapies,
oxygenation blood transfusions provided a wide range of
natural therapeutics for clients with chronic diseases.
Later that evening, Willy Hauser introduced me to Josef
Deck and we went to a superb restaurant in a castle for
dinner. Josef Deck had recently experienced a stroke
and was unable to talk, however he listened to my
conversation with Willy Hauser with great enthusiasm.
When it came time to order, I chose a salad and
asparagus. Josef Deck chose a steak that arrived
accompanied by peas and Willy Hauser chose a meal of
meat and vegetables. As I sat across from Josef Deck,
watching him eat his steak, I wondered whether I should
speak to him about my work in purification and
regeneration and tell him how I had healed my breast
cancer. I took a deep breath and told my story, how my
Iridology and Natural Medicine practice and teachings
were developing in England, and my visits to healing
centers in India.
Willy Hauser became very interested in my ideas, and
after Josef Deck took me to his clinic where he
demonstrated the most advanced Iridology photography
and his approach to tiny details with magnification, I
gave Willy Hauser a copy of my Iridology book and
course.
The next morning when I met with Willy Hauser I
discovered he had stayed up all night and read my book
and course with the aid of a dictionary. He said he
wanted to visit Cambridge and teach my English students
the German approach to Iridology and he said he would
study every day with an English teacher so that he
could present the ideas and talk to students. We set a
date for an Iridology Symposium and when I returned
home I booked a University of Cambridge lecture hall
and began contacting students and practitioners of
Iridology and Natural Medicine.
When I brought
Dr. Bernard Jensen,
Dorothy Hall,
and
Dr. Raymond Christopher
to London, we enrolled around 100 students for each
seminar, and I was determined to make Willy Hauser’s
presentation just as abundant – and it was! However,
even though I learned much from Willy Hauser’s work, I
found my mind expanding into a different realm. After
the symposium, I contemplated the iris types and sub
types, looking for unifying factors, so important in my
approach to healing. I want the source of organization
in all my teachings, and principles that bring
understanding of cause and effect so that clients can
begin to understand their own irises without attending
a training seminar.
Then, one wonderful day on a train to London,
illumination opened my heart and my mind, and I
understand that behind the constitutional patterns were
dominant body systems that enabled me to organize the
constitutions in a more simple model that allowed for
psychological resonances to be easily understood. Each
body system contributes functions and energies to the
inner ecology, and contains organs that have emotional
correspondences according to Chinese, Ayurveda or
ancient Mediterranean or Middle Eastern medicinal
systems. I followed this light of inspiration and
developed the Faridian system of Iridology
Constitutions that I have used now for over twenty-five
years. I share this system so that students and
practitioners of Iridology and Natural Medicine may not
only guide clients toward health and wellness, but help
them understand their own unique being in a truly,
deeply holistic manner – body, emotions, social
relationships, life processes, mental attitudes and
approach to spirituality.
Herbal Gardens and Herbal Products

Herbal Medicine is a vast field and students find many
possibilities for future destinies - some develop
products, a garden, some wildcraft, others enjoy a
practice, or write a book or teach classes, or working
for companies - the most important discovery is
learning how to use them in daily life.
Jennifer, from British Columbia's Sunshine Coast, plays
with comfrey leaves - an herbal rabbit!! the
laughter and fun in learning and exploring
reflect the joy of discovery and communion with amazing
wisdom to understand the connection between our inner
ecology and the sources of nourishment in our outer
ecology of elements, energies and nature.
My new garden in North Boulder is based around herbal
plants, with stone pathways around the trees - I dont
want grass!! a waste of time mowing and no value. How
beautiful to have valuable fragrant plants arise every
spring and to be able to share their value and use and
use them in salads and teas.
Heidi
Jarvis SNM graduate ND MH MIr, our herbal teacher, and
her daughter, Kalina, share an herbal life as Heid has
been taking care of the Herbs of Grace herbal
pharmacy/dispensary for 12 years. She also created
Earth Pharmaceuticals for her own herbal products she
sells to Vitamin Cottage and other locations and her
own herbal gardens Natur LLC.

Nature Within Nature Without
Herbal Medicine II with the School of Natural Medicine is a mix of experiences and skills - the first day with Farida exploring formula creation, adjustment and the principles of blending in relationship to constitution, symptoms and health goals with herbal nutrients. Students then go to the school herbal pharmacy and gardens with Heidi Jarvis ND MH MIr who guides them through connection sensing feeling communion with plants, wildcrafting, plant identification and herbal product making - next classes - June 24 for HM I and July 29 for HM II - further classes will be offered next June.

JULIA: What an amazing course! I am blissed by the
beauty of the plant world. The
Botanical Gardens
was pure joy. It was helpful to see, smell, taste and
speak with each plant. We made salves, bath salts, and
tinctures. I am very thankful and will be using this
knowledge for the rest of my days. AVERY: I loved the
opportunity to get in touch with the herbs and see how
clearly they communicate with us. It feels empowering
to identify a plant, Heidi’s daughter, Kalina, was a
joy. She helped me stay in touch with my intuitive
inner child. GABRIEL: I love the study of herbs. They
connect me with nature. Nature heals. This I know
because my heart tells me so. After our magical day at
the Denver Botanical Gardens, we had the final day of
being mad scientists in the herbal pharmacy dispensary
and it felt like the best day of my life! ELLA: I loved
the class! Holistic knowledge enabled me to connect to
my intuition and senses. I learned so much! I felt very
supported and nurtured and this enabled me to learn
more completely.
JENNIFER: HM II enlivened all my senses and brought out
new ones too!! An entire day at the gardens was bliss
and our last day fabulous with hands on making salves,
tinctures and bath salts. Heidi was a fantastic
thorough facilitator. Thank you SNM. It was GREAT!
Loved it!

Discover the Anxiety Gastric or Nervous Sensitive
Iridology Constitutional Type with the dominant
kinesthetic nature so excellent for grounded sensing
knowing combined with the ability to know both sides of
a situation and mediate balance and appropriate
decisions. When challenged, this type separates from
knowing and becomes exhausted with worry, anxiety,
indecision and conflict, and they find it difficult to
leave situations that are not good for them.
Read on to discover Farida Sharan's constitutional
types taught at the School of Natural Medicine
Iridology trainings in Boulder, Colorado. These types

Iris Color: Brown or blue
Fiber Structure: Any fiber structure
Description: Radii soleris radiating out from the
center combined with sensitivity rings, in varying
patterns, density, and numbers
Aging/Disease Pathways: Digestive and nervous systems
affecting each other
Systems: Digestive, nervous, glandular
Other Possible Signs: Toxic, dark radii soleris; radii
going through a major organ, gland or brain areas;
radii breaking through the collarette affecting the
autonomic nervous system; bowel toxicity flowing into
radii soleris; acute or toxic sensitivity nerve rings;
inflammatory adrenals affecting the nervous system
Tissue Weakness: Wherever radii break through the
collarette, or terminate, there is potential weakness
in the bowels or autonomic nervous system
Gland Weakness: Radii soleris through adrenal, thyroid,
pancreas, ovaries, prostate
Organ Weakness: Radii soleris through heart, liver,
kidneys, spleen, uterus
Activity: If the bowels are toxic the radii are used to
dispense toxins into reflex areas affecting organs,
glands, body systems and tissues, causing irritation
and hyperactive neuro-muscular activity and
psychosomatic ailments blood diseases and calcium
imbalances
Symptoms: Angina, anxiety, cardiac stress, colitis,
constipation, epilepsy, headaches, hysteria, intestinal
spasms, nervous stomach, thyroid deficiency, ulcers
Emotions: anxiety, fear, irritation rising from
conflict, indecision and confusion
Eliminate: Sugar, fried foods, junk and processed
foods, eating on the run, when under stress or during
emotional conflicts
Diet: Wholefood vegetarian fresh organic vegetables,
fruits, grains, nuts and seeds; fresh vegetable juices;
alkaline diet; mono diet
Lifestyle: Avoid stress and living in conflict
situations; exercise; meditation, tai chi and yoga are
recommended to calm the nervous system and encourage
grounding and embodiment.
Herbs: Bowel Rejuvenator, Nerve Rejuvenator, Tonic or
Vitalizer, Adrenal, Thyroid, Alkaline and the
Multi-Vitamin/Mineral Naturally formula
Treatments: Castor oil pack; Ginger poultice over
kidneys; cold abdominal pack; polarity balancing;
massage; acupuncture; Bach flower remedies
Personality: This type contains two strong energy
movements, outward goal direction through radii
soleris, and inward containment through sensitivity
rings. In their negative expression this type wallows
in unresolved conflict, wastes energy, stops, changes,
is unable to make a decision, follow through or resolve
problems. Breakdown is the inevitable result of
exhausted adrenals and a depleted nervous system. The
positive expression is manifested when the person can
express and dialogue both aspects of their personality
with creative joy, and resolve conflicts by looking at
both sides before making the best choice or perhaps
doing both. They may avoid choice by going along with
whatever stronger, more defined personalities around
them want to do. Challenge: This type needs balance,
stillness, inner strength and knowing wisdom. They must
learn to dialogue internally, and overcome the tendency
to exhaust themselves with situations and conflicts
they can’t mediate, harmonize or resolve. They must
balance their sensitivity so that they are not a victim
of this knot of vacillating feelings, or stay where
they cannot free themselves from or resolve conflicts.
THE JOY OF FINDING WHAT YOU ARE SEEKING
“Words cannot express how truly right this school feels...like I’ve had an itch on my back for years and it’s finally getting scratched! You and Heidi have taught directly to my soul and God has chosen such great people to surround you. Finally I don’t feel so alone in my journey!!!” Tasha, Golden, Colorado

“I feel so very blessed to have had the opportunity to
cross your path in my life and to feel inspired by your
life, your gifts, and your presence. I guess it
has been a year now since I first came to your school,
and although there is tons of work to be done, it feels
so good to have taken steps on the path my heart
directs. When I first came I hadn't even heard the word
‘tincture’ and now I use them regularly and have even
prepared one or two.The space and people that occupy
the place you have made possible in the school in
Boulder have given me the love and support I needed to
begin my journey within myself to find true healing. I
have such a deep love you and the others I have spent
time especially during the reflexology training. I have
learned so much and have a joy in my heart from these
memories.” Rebecca “I wanted to give you an update to
let you know that natural medicine is my path, and that
I believe the universe is opening up the door for me to
enter I also want to let you know that I think of
you fondly every day I'm alive, and honor what your
teachings have taught me. I've yet to experience the
depth and compassion that your teachings offer. I also
see you as a wonderful mentor, a nurturing mother, and
the essence of the divine feminine. When I look
at you, or hear your voice (or watch your videos), it
is like going home for me. Thank you Dear Teacher.
Please forgive me over the years for not being a better
student or mentee. And thank you for always being
there. Namaste,” Chris - Washington, DC "Beautiful
class offerings, be there soon as it all works its way
out and back towards my journeys' goal...Great profile

each book. Kind Regards,” Sharyn - Australia.
“When I was reading ‘Flower Child’ I experienced
similarities of my own life journey with yours,
although we are two decades apart and living in two
different worlds, but the same things were happening
within us and with our destinies. Yes these universal
themes with the same soul, spirit, feeling, love of
life! Love you always,” Dila, Denver, Colorado “Farida,
I've been ordering herbs for my sister and mother for a
couple years, and taking them myself. Since I've been
receiving herbs from Heidi, I feel that the quality of
the herbs has gotten better, and the overall vibration
of the herbs has been higher, more loved and
potentized. I am really happy with Heidi's efforts with
the School of Natural Medicine Herb Pharmacy, and the
care she takes in managing things there. I told Heidi
this, and just thought I should tell you as well. Love
for your Loving Life.” SK

Personality:This
personality reflects the quality of the lymphatic
system. They have ideals of harmony, peace and purity,
a heaven on earth idealistic vision. They feel
kinesthetically the suffering of other living beings,
the decimation of wildlife, and the pollution of the
planet. They work tirelessly for causes and have
difficulty saying no. When they become depressed they
wallow in emotional toxicity. Harmonious beauty, music,
art or literature lifts their spirits and inspires
them. Because they are greatly affected by the
environment, they need to surround themselves with
beauty and harmony, especially in the home and work
environment.
Challenge:
Because the tendency of this type is to hold on to
toxicity if there are difficulties, it is essential
that efforts be made to learn to release, to let go and
purify on all levels – physically, emotionally and
mentally. Whenever this type holds on to toxins or
unexpressed emotions, the lymph becomes congested and
affects the entire body. The nature of lymph is to
flow, to purify and to circulate throughout the entire
body, restoring balance, harmony and purity throughout
the tissues. These type needs to learn to say no,
not to overload their systems, and to discriminate
carefully as to what they allow into their life.

formula creation, supporting herbal treatments with
healing diets, flower essences, essential oils,
reflexology and emotional counseling.

"School of Natural Medicine's Herbal Medicine I class
has been a fantastic experience! I took a 6 week herbal
class with another school last year and the tools I
have learned over the past 4 days have far exceeded the
knowledge and experience that I had with multiple weeks
of studying herbs."
HERBAL MEDICINE – A SACRED RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE

GABRIEL - “I smell. I taste. I touch. I see. I feel.
Feeling starts the process. An herb is in front of me
as I feel, see pictures, places, the herb tells a
story. I laugh, cough, smile. Nature calls out. I get
this sense that herbs heal just by being in their
presence. Smell tells me so much. I smell earth, air,
water and fire and feel the ether. Musty, sweet, salty,
earthy, sun wind and rain. Smell carries a sense of
where the herbs have traveled from and how they
traveled. Taste is a physical sensation in different
parts of my body and my tongue. Tastes soothe,
activate, stimulate. I see the study of herbs as a
date. Sit down with the herb, have a nice cup of tea
and get to know the herb’s story. Where are you from?
What is your favorite color? Can I call you in the
morning? Can I call you at night? The more present and
aware I am with an herb, the more it will tell me about
itself. As Heidi says, ‘Give great thanks to the herbs.
They are a precious gift.”
JULIA - “HM I is something I have looked forward to
since the day I first found Farida Sharan’s School of
Natural Medicine website, and it is everything I could
have hoped for. We jumped right into the world of
herbs, learning the herbs and acknowledging their
presence. The energy of each plant and their healing
properties are truly beautiful. I was able to
understand their power on an energetic level, being to
being. I am very excited for HM II and for my future
with my lovely plant friends as healers and teachers.
We also went into detail about running our own herbal
pharmacy. Wow, what work, love and devotion! I am
strengthened in my respect for herbalist and healers
and all the good work they do.”
AVERY
- “HM I is a practical, yet spiritual class where I
learned not only the reality of creating my own herbal
dispensary but also the etheric communication the herbs
offer as long as we take the time to listen. It was
interesting to learn about possible paradigms people
may have that could be helped by recommending herbs. I
am looking forward to going deeper with this natural
world in HM II.”
JENNIFER - “I have been looking forward to HM I as the
herbs have been calling me. It was a real treat and
pleasure to learn with Heidi at her home, herbal farm
and dispensary. It is not what the books say, but what
the herbs tells you when you look, taste, touch and
smell with gracious respect of the herbs and their
medicine and life force. What great friends the herbs
are! I also saw how much devotion and work it takes to
run a dispensary. Heidi covered all the areas with
grounded knowledge and experience and it was fun to see
her so vibrant in her element!”
TASHA - “We have inner herbal power! I was so amazed at
my ability to analyze an herb before knowing which one
it was. Each herb contains power and healing
properties. My experience has been uplifting, giving me
more confidence in the immaculate healing power of
herbal medicine. Being able to see the dispensary,
herbs, shelves, scale, bags was GREAT and valuable.
This was an excellent first class in the School of
Natural Medicine that set the base for future learning.
Plants are the future! We also had GREAT discussions
and I learned a lot from teachers and the students.”
KATHRYN - “Confronting our own fears and investigating
our initiation into beginning a friendship and
introduction to the plant kingdom set a background to
discovering how to run an herbal business was very
inspiring. Sitting, meditating, tasting and touching
the individual herbs in both raw/natural and powder
form has been useful as listening to the body and
intuition engages a wisdom that stretches back to my
ancestors. I feel this class helped me uncover a
treasure. I look forward to the next adventure of HM
II.”
HEIDI JARVIS ND MH - Herbal Medicine Educator and
Director of the School of Natural Medicine Herbs of
Grace pharmacy/dispensary. “As they walked in my door
thirsting for knowledge they all sat down expecting to
learn about herbs and their properties but much to
their surprise, they learned the most important part of
the plant, the spirit energy as they connected with the
plants. They each have great potential in the healing
life journey of Natural Medicine.”
