Accreditation is a question every inquirer wants to understand. Our Diploma graduates qualify for membership to numerous accrediting, approval and regulatory bodies with the understanding that experiencing the healing power of nature is a human right, not one bestowed by individual institutions.

Topics covered in our Diploma courses are ones that can be freely and taught practiced within ‘common law’. Some herbs are regulated in the UK and EU, and laws sometimes change. All students, from any country, can become a member of the American Herbalist Guild or other world herbal organizations. See below for further details.
Accrediting bodies and associations listed below offer the benefits of sharing community, support each others work, protect the role of graduates as a group, reduce insurance rates, offer conferences for continuing education, share pertinent changes to the profession and provide access to current clinical studies and research.
In addition to the personal benefits of membership, strength of numbers is vital for the continuing protection of Natural Medicine.

School of Natural Medicine flourished worldwide from 1977 in Cambridge, England, and 28 years in Boulder, Colorado, and again in England since 2007. Our consistent standard of excellence draws students from all over the world. Graduate success in England, Malaysia, India, Lebanon, USA, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Holland, Iceland and other countries proves the quality and integrity of our school and the truth of the teachings.

Institute of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ICAM)

Institute of Complimentary and Natural Medicine (ICNM)
is now the Official Naturopathy Accreditation in the UK.

ICAM (now ICNM) approved Farida Sharan and the School of Natural Medicine in 1986. Institute of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ICAM) confirms SNM Status

“Dear Farida Sharan, We confirm your School is affiliated to this Institute which means we share a commitment to develop national standards of education for Complementary Medicine. Since you have always been recognised as one of the leaders in your chosen discipline, you would be one to advise this Institute and other Awarding Bodies of the standards of education, philosophical understanding and clinical experience required for practitioner status. Further, your published material is widely used for reference both in teaching and practise. Practitioners who successfully complete your courses which have their syllabuses lodged with us and whose examinations have been subjected to external verification, would be likely to be at the standard of entry to the British Register of Complementary Practitioners.”
– Michael Endacott, Director
UK Journal of Alternative Medicine
Farida Sharan was invited an Editor on the prestigious UK Journal of Alternative Medicine, and keynote speaker at the first Alternative Medicine Exhibition in London during the rise of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United Kingdom in the 1980’s.
